my name is Gizmo! I also go my Giz, nugget, peanut, and you little $hit. My foster mom sometimes calls me that because I want to be petted and scratched every second of the day and like to pester her when she isn't. I'd like to stay in this house for the rest of my old man life, but I understand that there are other dogs that need my foster home too. So here I am, looking for my forever home!
A little bit about me. I'm 13 years young, and still peppy as ever! I have some arthritis, but since I got a shot almost two months ago, I don't hurt or limp. I have an old hip injury from a previous cattle dog sibling that used to beat up on me, but it doesn't hinder me at all since the arthritis shot. I will probably need arthritis medicine or the arthritis shots for the rest of my life, but they aren't that expensive.
Some things I like! I like other dogs and enjoy being part of a pack. I don't really want to play with other dogs, I just want them to be around and keep me company. I love to be petted all the time, and I loooooove my belly scratched. I love to be near you at any time day or night. Dog beds, blankets, and furniture I can nap on are a definite must for my permanent home, and even better if you let me snuggle with you and your blanket. I really enjoy laying in the sun and patrolling the yard. Snacks are definitely a favorite thing of mine, and meal time. But at meal time, it's best for me to eat alone since I want everyone's food.
Some things I don't like. The rain, it's wet and I don't like it at all. I don't like the dog cage, but I will go in one reluctantly if you ask me to. But my foster mom says I don't need one because I'm not naughty when she's away from the house. I don't like to be left out of pets and attention, at all. And to be honest, I don't like strangers. AT ALL. I am extremely protective of my home and my foster mommy, and can be quite naughty when someone comes into my house or yard. If you were to adopt me, you would have to make sure you remove me from the room when someone comes over, and introduce me slowly. At least a few times with the same person so I can get to know them. After a few minutes of me getting to know someone, then I'm better.
I would probably do best in a quiet home, with not a lot of visitors and no kids. Maybe a home where i could be someones companion!!! One where I could be the center of attention and get lots of pets, and spend my golden years abusing blankets and dog beds, and laying in the sun. I am a good, good boy. I really am. I know the right home is out there for me. I know it is.
