Go meet their pets

Thank you for contacting the Humane Society of Southern Arizona!

No appointment is necessary to view/adopt! Adoptions are done on a first-come, first-serve basis. We ask that you come prepared to complete and finalize adoption, and to take the animal home at the time of your visit, if the right match for you is found at our shelter.

In order to ensure public safety and social distancing in our lobby and kennel areas, clients will be admitted as space safely allows. We are currently unable to accommodate parties that wish to browse only and/or those who do not have the ability to adopt on the same day.

During peak times, you will be asked to sign in on a waitlist on your arrival. Long wait times may be experienced on weekend days due to high demand for our services on Fridays, and Saturdays.

To maintain safe physical distancing, we ask that you limit the members in your party to those who will be directly living with the animal. If you are interested in dogs and have one or more already residing in your home, we do encourage you to bring your dog(s) so that introductions can be done at our facility prior to adoption, ensuring that the dogs will get along at home.

If you are contacting us regarding an animal seen on the Adopt-a-Pet website please note that this is an advertising platform shared by multiple rescues and shelters in the Tucson area. To verify that the pet you are viewing is residing at our facility, please check the upper right hand corner of the pet’s profile page. If the animal is at our facility it will read “I am being cared for by the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.”

PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption listings are updated each day as animals are added or adopted. The availability of individual animals may change at short notice. We are currently unable to place a hold on a specific animal.

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is committed to the health and well-being of the community we serve. To help protect one another, we require face coverings and physical distancing while in our facility.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
