My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Husky/Golden Retriever mix

17 weeks (born 07/28 /24)

Current weight 35 pounds.  He will be an extra large dog (80+ pounds) when fully grown.  His dad was a 90 pound Huskey and his mom a 60 pound Golden Retriever.

Moku is a real sweetheart and loves attention.  He has lots of playful puppy energy so he's looking for a home with another playful pup or an active family that will help him get plenty of exercise.    He is seeking a securely fenced yard to allow him to run off his puppy energy or someone experienced with teaching him how to walk properly on a leash.  Even though he is already big, he's still just a puppy and will need repetition and structure to learn how to be a good boy.

He's beginning to learn to play with toys and plays well with his littermate.  He's figured out that chew bones are pretty nice.

He is working on potty training and he will need continued training in his new home.  He has been working on "no" "come" "off" and "sit".

Due to his size he is already working on his crate training and spending all night in his crate.

Moku will be available for adoption November 29th after he has been neutered, microchipped and received additional puppy vaccinations.  He will need a 2nd, 3rd & 4th set once he is adopted.

If interested, please  complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.

More about this rescue

Needy Paws Rescue, located in St. Louis, MO, is devoted to saving animals in need, whose lives are in danger at high kill animal shelters & animal controls, those who are strays, have been abandoned or whose family has faced an extreme emergency, regardless of their size or breed.

Our organization is made up of Volunteers who have been involved in various animal rescues in the St. Louis area and we plan to use our knowledge & experience to make a difference. We believe spaying & neutering is a very important step in keeping pets healthy & happy, plus it helps decrease overpopulation. All of our rescued animals will be spayed or neutered, they will be microchipped to ensure they are identifiable if lost or stolen and they will be current on all of their vaccinations before going to their Forever Homes.

We are foster-based and all pets stay in approved Foster Homes that have passed inspections, reference checks and are qualified to take care of our rescued animals while they wait for their Forever Family. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will be making home visits and conducting veterinarian checks & reference checks to ensure the pets will have a safe, loving, happy home. Forever Families will be taught how to care for their pet and learn how to get the most out of their relationship with their new family member. We also have an after-care specialist who will be in contact with the families after the adoption to see how well they're doing together
