My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Halle
Female
Age: 1-2 years
Weight: 27 lbs
Breed: Bassett/Terrier mix

Hi there! I’m Halle! I am an outgoing, resilient and pretty darn smart girl who gets along with other dogs and kids as well. I haven’t been around cats to know how I would do around them. I may only be 1-2 years old, but I’m one tough cookie! I have already been through more than most dogs ever will. I lost my leg in a car accident, but it hasn’t slowed me down one bit. I love being around people and other dogs. Seriously, if you show me any attention, I’m your biggest fan. I’ll wag my tail and shower you with affection—there’s no such thing as too much love for me! Dog beds are my happy place, and I could spend hours lounging around, chewing on a good bone. If there's a soft, comfy spot to curl up in, you’ll find me there, happy as can be. I am house trained and am great on a leash – because of my surgeries, short walks only for the time being. Now, just so you know, I’m not a fan of being left alone (who is, right?), so I’d do best in a home where my human has a flexible schedule, maybe even working from home. I’m getting better at crate training and can stay in my crate for short periods of time, but I’d love a place where I’m not left on my own for too long. Oh, and I’d really thrive in a home with no shared walls (think single-family house or a place where I won’t disturb neighbors). I can be a bit vocal when I’m feeling excited or miss my people, so a space where I can be myself and bark freely is ideal! I’ve been through a lot, but I’m a fighter, and every day I’m getting stronger. I’m excited to share all my love, loyalty, and energy with the right person who can give me the attention, care, and understanding I need. Let’s create some amazing memories together! If you are interested in meeting Halle, apply to adopt her at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $350 Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older.
