I would like to introduce you to Adkins (I call him Bud). He is a 3 year old lab mix. He is the sweetest boy! He spent the last couple of years in a shelter, and he’s still learning to be free. He is very energetic, but also loves to cuddle. He loves to chase balls, and run through the yard. He is very smart and knows a few commands. ï¿¼He would be best in a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and lots of toys and maybe a friend to play with. Not sure how he is with small children, as he tends to jump. He would need slow introductions, because he tends to be protective of his space. He’s good with other dogs and cats except if they run he will chase them because he wants to play. He’s totally housebroken and walks good on a leash except when he’s excited. You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.

We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?
