My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A BUNDLE OF FUN & JOY:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 26 lbs.

Hi, my name’s Jacob!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control.  I’m so glad to be in a safe, loving place where I am getting all the love and attention I deserve while waiting for my furever family to find me.  If you are looking for a fun, furry family member, come meet me soon!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and although I didn’t want to play with them, I also didn’t show any aggression.  I also did not react to the dogs I saw on a day trip at the park.  So, if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t officially met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, however I was sweet with two boys, around ages 5 and 12 that I met at the park on a day trip.  If you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a friendly fellow who is as sweet and smart as I am handsome.  A volunteer I went on a day trip with described me as ‘the perfect package’!  I will ask to be petted and love head/ear rubs.  Though shy and calm for my shelter bath and nail trim, I have a playfulness that is typical of my fun JRT breed. / My energy level is 4-6+.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  So far, I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’ and ‘leave it’ commands.  I’m working with my trainer on curbing my leg mounting behavior, so our walks to be fun for us both. This is improving, though someone with mobility issues should not walk me right now.  I bet you can teach me even more, as I am a smart guy! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I absolutely love toys, so let’s have lots of great play sessions together.  I like riding in the car and I stayed calm in the backseat on the way to the park for a day trip.  I’m always happy to be with my people and look forward to being included in all the fun goings-on as part of the family in my new home. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I am looking for a great home with a loving furever family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
