My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET GIRL GROWING IN CONFIDENCE:  Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 50 lbs.

Hi, my name’s Yasmeen!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control and I’m sure happy they did!  I’m now ready to find my furever family to love!   I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, and I liked them, so if you have kids around that age, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I arrived a bit nervous, so the volunteers gave me extra time to settle in and get to know them and then my sweetness shined through. They just go slowly with me, and I really appreciate that!  Once comfortable, I am a very loving girl who shows you happy tail wags and is affectionate.  I’m still a bit wary of strangers, but I do warm up quickly once I know I can trust them.  I was perfect for my bath and ‘just the sweetest girl. / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I’m very treat-motivated, which is probably why I am so accomplished as an MMU student. Check back soon to see what else I have learned. / I’m a little nervous in my kennel but am starting to get the routine of it. / I've been having very few accidents on the shelter schedule.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can fully master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  Being with people is just the best, and I love all the attention and cuddles that come my way.  I am very calm on my leash, so let’s enjoy some walks together, though I seem a bit grass shy at times – sidewalks or a quieter trail could be great! / I’m still a bit nervous, so sudden movements startle me at the shelter, and I don’t think I’d like a home with a lot of folks coming and going or where I’d be rushed.  When I’m excited, I have played roughly with my humans – so best no wresting or roughhousing with me around.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I came in with untreated ear infections, so I’ve been treated for that. I have some skin irritation so I’m taking the allergy medication Apoquel and getting twice weekly medicated baths, which is helping me.

I am looking for a great home with a loving, furever family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
