Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Comet – Your Loyal, Well-Mannered Adventure Buddy!
Comet is a sweet, smart, and stunning 1.5-year-old Malamute/Husky mix, weighing around 90 lbs. This well-mannered boy is housetrained, doesn’t counter surf or get into trash, and respects furniture—only hopping up when invited. He patiently waits for his food and rides great in a car or truck, making him the perfect travel companion. He loves the snow.
A Dream on a Leash & A Lover of the Outdoors
Comet walks beautifully on a leash, keeping pace like a pro. He thrives in the great outdoors, loves the snow and mountains, and enjoys being brushed. He also has the classic Husky/Malamute charm—he loves to "talk" and will be a great conversationalist for an active home!
A Brave Boy Looking for a Fresh Start
Comet was rescued from an overcrowded rural shelter during the Fourth of July chaos. Unfortunately, after an unprovoked attack by another dog left him with injuries, he has become more reserved and dog-selective. However, he has since been in playgroups with other dogs in boarding and may regain his confidence in time. Until further assessment, he would do best as the only dog in the home.
While his interactions with cats and kids are unknown, he has ignored cats while on walks and remained focused on his route. With his loving, loyal nature, he is sure to bond deeply with his forever family.
Comet is ready for a second chance—could that be with you? Whether fostering or adopting, you'll be gaining a well-mannered, adventurous, and affectionate companion who will bring warmth and joy to your home!

We require a foster or adoption application to qualify to foster or adopt our animals. We do check your current veterinary reference and landlord approval if renting. The next step is a "meet and greet" with all family members and/or household occupants, and current pets. Upon approval, we offer a "trial adoption" period that allows adopter to make sure of a good fit for both the dog and family. Adoption is final when adoption contract (different from application) is filled out and signed, and adoption fee is paid. Our adoption fees range from $75 - $300 (puppies) currently, but are subject to revision if our veterinary costs rise.
