Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
From Pinot's foster mom- "Pinot is a sweet and gentle cat. She's quiet--apart from some darling little chirps and trilling meows. She has been a very easy cat to foster. We love her sweet purr as she leans in for head scratches and soft ear rubs. She is content to spend her time looking out of the window, taking a long nap, or every so often, batting a toy around. She's also interested in watching television. While she's still quite cautious with people, she's blossoming every day, growing in confidence that she is in a safe space. She's been a very kind and patient mom and has done a wonderful job raising two bubbly kittens. She's definitely more of a quiet-night-in type of cat than a party animal, Although she's in no rush to bound through our house, she's curious about the world outside her window. She has also developed an immediate, trusting and affectionate rapport with our dog, and they sweetly touch noses when they approach each other. Pinot will be a wonderful addition to a patient family who understands that it takes a while for a house to feel like home." If this sounds like the cat for you, make an appointment to meet her! She'd love to meet you!

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

More about this rescue
Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.
Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
