Meet Hickory! This handsome boy is a 4-month-old Boxer who currently weighs 27.2 pounds. He's making progress with housetraining. It takes a little coaxing to get Hickory to go outside, so he has occasional accidents. He's gradually learning that going outside isn't scary. He does well in his crate.
Hickory does well with cats. He does OK with female dogs, but seems to play much rougher with male dogs. His foster believes he'll do well with children once he's trained to keep four paws on the floor.
Hickory's hobbies include bones, car rides, and cuddles. He's a smartie who knows "sit," "stay," and "down." He's almost learned "shake." His foster believes Hickory will do well in most environments.
The foster shared: "He's super lovable! He thinks he's a lap dog and loves to snuggle! If someone lags behind on a walk, he'll pull on his leash gently to go to them, or sit down and wait until they catch up. He's a really good dog! He doesn't like to outside at first, but is easily coaxed out with treats or verbal encouragement."
His adoption fee is $325 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
To be considered for adoption, you must first submit the application found at:
