My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Arya was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement

Why Arya might be the one for you:
Arya is a beautiful, bashful lady looking for a chill household where she can blossom and show off her true colors. Speaking of colors, note the white markings on her shiny black fur. We love the white streak down her face to her brilliant white chest. Although a bit of a wallflower, she will let you know that she wants to be petted by nudging your hands. Once comfortable with you, there is no limit to the love she will share with you. It may be best for Arya to have dog savvy people who will give her the time and training she needs to come into being the pet that both you and she wants her to be. Arya will thrive best in small household with mature folks who can help Arya build confidence. There's more that we're learning about this sweet girl each day, and we can't wait to share more with you! If you are interested in adopting Arya, visit us and ask to spend some time with Arya - sweet Arya with the great white markings.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
