My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Samson!

Samson is a senior bunny who is looking for his new rabbit-savvy retirement home where he can be pampered and live out the rest of his days in peace.

Samson loves quiet pets and will lay his head on the floor and close his eyes when he is enjoying the attention. His favorite snack is chopped romaine lettuce, but he enjoys munching on an assortment of veggies as he pleases. He is content to pass the day lounging on his blankets or hidey-holes where he feels the most comfortable.

Due to his age, Samson will require an indoor, rabbit-experienced home where he can receive the extra grooming and attention that comes along with adopting a senior pet, and to keep him looking and feeling his best. Samson was recently introduced to litter box training and has been picking it up quite quickly! He still asks for patience as he practices this new skill and transitions from his old life as an outdoor rabbit, to a cozy, spoiled indoor bunny.

If you would like to provide Samson with the retirement home of his dreams, please submit an application to the Shuswap branch through the link below, or contact the shelter at (250) 832-7376 or shuswap@spca.bc.ca with questions.

*Please note, photos of the enclosure will be requested upon receipt of your application. Samson is in foster but we are happy to schedule a meet and greet with approved applicants!

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort
