Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Matiz entered San Bernardino City Shelter as a stray, and when not claimed, he soon was scheduled to be euthanized. Fortunately, we had a kennel become available and made Matiz a Frosted Face on November 27th. He is around 10 years old and weighs 51 lbs.
Matiz is a very sweet boy, and we can see why shelter volunteers advocated so strongly for his rescue. He loves attention - petting, being brushed, and snuggling. Matiz is good with children, walks nicely on leash, and rides nicely in the car. He is an all-around good boy!
Matiz is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn what he is like in a home.
His Fling Family reports:
"Matiz has been such a wonderful house guest with us over the holidays. Here are some things we’ve learned about this handsome guy:
*rides well and quietly in the car
*has shown no separation anxiety when left alone for several hours. He just sleeps from what we can see on the camera.
*100% house-trained. No accidents inside since being with us.
*likes his walks and gets really excited when we leash up to go outside. He can tolerate ~2 miles before slowing down and getting tired.
*likes his toys and plays well
*knows sit command, shake, and followed “drop it” pretty well. Also “comes” when called in the house.
*sleeps quietly through the night on a dog bed in our room.
*eating well at mealtimes but not very treat/food motivated otherwise
*takes meds fine with some cheese
*plays well with other dogs and good with kids. He got along with our family’s dog and did great with our 4 year old niece. Has been really good with random interactions from kids during our walks.
*NOT a velcro dog and completely content doing his own thing, but does get excited when we come home and greets us with tail wags.
Overall, Matiz is a super chill pup who has the cutest polar bear face and is so lovable. He would make a great addition to any family!"
Matiz is ready for a forever home! Might it be with you?
