My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Harper & Matilda — The Dynamic Duo!

Looking for twice the love and double the adventure? Harper and Matilda are a bonded pair who are ready to find a forever home that will embrace their unique personalities and help them thrive together.

HARPER

Harper is a gentle, shy soul working on building her confidence and learning to trust the world. She’s looking for a family that will give her the time, space, and understanding she needs to bloom.

Harper’s Ideal Home:
• A calm, patient environment where she can feel safe and loved.
• A doggy sibling like Matilda to show her the ropes and provide reassurance.
• A securely fenced yard for safe exploration.
• A family committed to continuing her potty training and supporting her vet-guided care for anxiety.

Harper may take time to warm up, but with love and consistency, she’ll reward you with her gentle heart and quiet devotion.

MATILDA (aka Tilly, MaddieTilly)

Matilda is Harper’s lively and adventurous counterpart! This Aussie mix thrives in an active home with plenty of outlets for her energy and someone who will balance her love of adventure with cozy cuddle time.

Matilda’s Personality & Quirks:
• Friendly with dogs and cats (though she might try to play with kitties!).
• A little nervous with fast movements and new experiences, but she’s working on building confidence.
• Full of affection and loves attention, though she’ll need patience as she grows into her best self.

Matilda’s Skills & Training:
• She’s learning the ropes! Bathed like a champ and stayed calm for nail trims (progress is happening!).
• Needs consistent basic training to help her unlock her full potential.

Matilda’s Ideal Home:
• An active family who loves outdoor adventures like hiking or running.
• A patient and loving environment where she can continue building confidence and learn the rules of the house.

Together, Harper & Matilda Are:

• Best friends who balance each other perfectly: Harper’s quiet soul shines brighter with Matilda’s outgoing nature by her side.
• A sweet duo who will reward your love and care with loyalty, companionship, and endless smiles.

These two are looking for a special family who can provide the structure, patience, and activity they need to thrive. Are you ready to welcome Harper and Matilda into your home and heart? They’ll be your greatest adventure yet!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We find loving, responsible, committed permanent homes. An in-depth adoption process is used. This includes taking considerable care in finding perfect matches and educating potential adopters about the responsibilities of bringing a dog, especially that particular dog, into their life. Applications may take several days to process and you may not hear from a UU Board member for up to a few weeks at most.

More about this rescue

Unforgettable Underdogs Dog Rescue is a volunteer run non-profit and no-kill dog rescue serving Northeast Wisconsin. We are dedicated to rescuing the underdogs, those who have found themselves homeless. We strive to help dogs in public high-kill shelters, abandoned or dogs being abused or neglected.

Dogs we care for are spayed or neutered, treated for any medical needs they have, and placed into loving foster homes until they find their permanent home. We aim to help dogs in need without discriminating against age or breed as space in foster homes permit. As our finances allow, we aim to take on the most underdog of the cases and help dogs in the most need.
