Meet Adara, a stunning one-year-old purebred German Shepherd Dog with a brilliant mind and a heart full of potential! Adara is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and quick to pick up new commands. Due to her intelligence and energy, she thrives best under an experienced handler familiar with strong, high-energy breeds.
Adara is dog friendly with proper intros, loves kiddos (has been raised with them), and loves people. She will bark as a greeting to new people in the house, but will want affection from them them ASAP! She loves a good snuggle on the couch and will only get up if invited. She would make an excellent family dog!
Adara’s heritage traces back to Denmark, and she carries the beauty and elegance of her lineage with her striking black and brown coat. Sadly, her original family experienced a tragedy, which is why she’s looking for a new home that can give her the care and guidance she deserves.
Adara has a high prey drive, so homes with no chickens or birds are a must. When it comes to cats, she can learn to “leave it” with proper introductions, but caution is advised around outdoor cats. Adara is housebroken, kennel trained, and knows all her basic commands. While she’s getting the hang of leash walking, she would benefit from more training to perfect it.
She would love a fenced-in backyard where she can safely play and burn off energy. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent companion who is eager to please and ready for new adventures, Adara could be the perfect fit!
Adara is in foster in Loveland, Colorado.
