My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 2 years
Weight: 6.54 kg

Say hello to Meeko, the sweet yet shy kitty looking for his new quiet forever. Brought to the shelter through no fault of his own, he`s been having a tough time here with all of the new smells, sounds, and sights. However, Meeko will come out to those willing to go slow with him and show off how affectionate and cuddly he can really be! He`s also got a delightfully playful side and loves to chase feather wand toys! Because he`s quite the timid tabby, he`d do best in a home that can offer him plenty of space to settle in at his own pace and is not a fan of young children. There`s a chance that Meeko could get along with a resident feline since he`s lived with another cat before. The meek yet mighty Meeko is waiting for you to quietly come and say hello to him!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
