Meet the Pet
This helps Poodle and Pooch Rescue with pet care costs.
Hello . . . My name is Casper, and just like Casper the Friendly Ghost, I am very friendly too! I am a 6-year-old white poodle weighing 61 lbs. I am a tall and lanky fella who is looking to find my new FURever home. Nothing would please me more than to be able to spend the upcoming holidays in that new home. I hope you enjoy reading more about me!
General Behavior: Casper is the best boy who deserves an awesome home. Casper came into PPR’s care with some separation anxiety (requiring medication). He has come a long way since being in our care and has become more confident (he no longer takes medication).
Likes & Dislikes: Casper LOVES to play. He loves people and will gently “nudge you” if you aren’t showing him enough love. He is not a fan of thunder.
Training: Casper is housetrained if let out on a regular, consistent schedule. He also has good basic manners.
Medical: Casper is a healthy pup and will just require his monthly heartworm and flea prevention, like any other dog.
Other Animals: Casper is experienced with other dogs, but can be weary of larger, dominant dogs. Therefore, a home with a slightly smaller canine friend would be ideal. Tiny dogs might not be best due to his size and play style. He could also be the only dog in the home, as long as his people are home more often than not. Casper has no experience with cats, but due to the same reasons as above, it may be best to have a home with no cats.
Children: While in PPR’s care, Casper has not been around children. His previous owner did state he was good with kids. However, because of his larger size, we feel a home with no children or older children (10 and over) would be best. Older children in the home will need to be respectful and will need to be supervised by the grown-up(s) in the home.
Home: Casper would do best in a home where someone is home more often than not. He should do well in an apartment or home. Casper would love a home with a fenced yard to run and play, but a home without a fenced yard would be ok, as long as his daily exercise needs are met to keep him lean and strong. Casper will need a regular, quality kibble for his daily meals and a soft place to sleep after a day of play.
Grooming: Casper is a poodle who will require professional grooming approximately every 8-10 weeks. The cost of grooming should be considered by his potential adopter. In between, he will need “at home spa days” for nail trims and bathing.
Overall: Casper wants to be loved and has so much love to give. He has had a lot of change in his life in the last couple of months, so a patient adopter who is willing to work with him to continue building his confidence is necessary. Anyone would be blessed to have this special boy join their family. With patience, love and commitment, the sky’s the limit for Casper.
Are you the one for Casper? Please visit our website, www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. Casper is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption donation is $350.
