Responding to Adopt a Pet is not a completion of an application. We do not adopt out of a local adoption area. Inquiries that ask questions listed in this bio will not be answered - the foster is a volunteer and has a heavy work schedule (to pay the bills for fostering) and has tried to answer the common questions that are received so that information is available to adopters. Pictures of this kitty were current as of 11/24/24
Mia was dumped at a local overcrowded shelter with no room for more kittens. She was rescued by FFAR and is now ready for her forever home. Mia is unusual in that she is an orange female and most orange kitties are male. Mia has a great personality. She is outgoing and affectionate. She can be a bit of a talker if she wants something. Mia is expected to have long hair as an adult. Her family will need to be willing to brush her on a regular basis. Prior cat experience is required. She's socialized both with other cats and dogs and must go to a home that has another pet to be her companion. She has a nice medium play level. She is good with her kitty box.
Anyone interested in our cats will be required to fill out an adoption application. To fill out an application on line, just go to www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and click on the Adoption Application link. All our cats will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations. We do ask for a $160 adoption donation.
Foster Homes are needed in order to help more animals like this one. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. Check out our website on how to become a Foster Parent! Visit www.FurryFriendsAnimalRescue.org and look under HOW TO HELP. Furry Friends provides veterinary care - you provide the home and love!.
We also need Volunteers for Adoption Events at Petsmart and Cage Cleaners.

Additional adoption info
We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis - it is our goal to find the right home for the cat or dog as well ensuring that the cat or dog is the right match for it's new family. A win/win situation.
For dogs, we require an application, home visit for approved application, and home trial period to ensure that it's a good fit for the dog and the family.
For cats, we require an application, but do allow same-day adoptions. Our goal is to find our fosters a "forever" home.
Our Adoption Fees are $140 for cats and $175 for dogs.
All our cats and dogs are fully vetted prior to adoption - this includes all age-appropriate vaccinations, feline leukemia/aids testing, heartworm tests, deworming, spay or neuter, microchips and other medical treatment as required.
You can fill out an Adoption Application online on our website.

More about this rescue
Furry Friends Animal Rescue
We are a new group started in 2013 by a large group of experienced rescuers - we wanted to be part of an ethical rescue group which would allow us to help homeless cats and dogs in the North Texas area. We value all the experience and knowledge brought to this group by the volunteers so the group is member based. We welcome new volunteers and fosters, both experienced or new to rescue. You can contact us by email or through our website - we will get back to you as soon as possible.
