Jay is a 6 year old, 6 lb. Chihuahua.
Little Jay came to the rescue as a very timid little boy and is really blossoming in his foster home. He prefers slow introductions to new people, but once he knows you, he is ready for cuddles and pets! He would love nothing more than to live the "couch potato" life and bury himself in fluffy blankets and plush doggie bed. Jay is finally learning how to be a dog and has come a long way already. He does use pee pads and may have been inside exclusively in his former life, because he is still learning how to go potty outside. He would be an ideal apartment dog since he is pee-pad trained! We also think he may have never had toys before, because is not interested in them. He instead would opt for being in his foster mom's lap where he can get pets all day long! He would do best in a calm, quiet home with no kids or older, respectful children. He currently lives with 5 other calm dogs and does well with them. He is also learning all about neighborhood walks on a leash! He sometimes gets a little nervous being outside too long, but with time and patience, we know he will love exploring and sniffing new things! Jay has been such a joy in his foster home, and he really hopes that his forever family comes to get him very soon so he can know that he is loved and safe for the rest of his life! Will that be you?
