My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rufus von Regen is a gorgeous, 10-month-old German Shepherd. Rufus is a ‘must meet’ for anyone out there with an active lifestyle looking for a gorgeous and sweet companion to share it with. Look at his face: Rufus is ready for anything…hike? Yes!! Go for a run? Why not every day! Rufus is a young, enthusiastic dog who will thrive with guidance and exercise. Whatever you are into, Rufus is into it too! He's very friendly and affectionate and will jump in your lap if you let him, and give you kisses. Likely housebroken, he knows Sit and takes treats gently. He's good meeting other dogs on walks and in playgroups, but says no to any kitty friends. Come meet Rufus!

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Rufus von Regen YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.

Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
