My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bailey von Banteln is a beautiful, 2-3 year old, 31-pound wonder. With his “pink pearl eraser” nose and ice blue eyes, Bailey's lineage leaves a lot to the imagination. But there's no doubt that he has captured our hearts! Proving to be the Best Boy Ever, Bailey is not only adorable but he is super social with people and other dogs. Kids adore him and he loves them back. This cutie pie is housebroken and he's also a gem to walk on the leash, staying close to your side. He meets dogs well and loves big and small ones. If you have a lap, Bailey will try to climb into it. This snuggler wants ear scratches and belly rubs. He is learning basic commands and will show off for some gently-taken treats. Bailey likes to socialize with dogs but does not like cats. Don't hesitate if you are looking for a one-of-a-kind Mr Personality Plus!

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Bailey von Banteln YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.

Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
