Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Champ von Coesfeld ia a stunning 10-11 month old German Shepherd. With his captivating, glowing eyes, Riddick turns heads wherever he goes. While he's a bit overwhelmed in our busy kennel, he’s fast to come out of his shell and show you how sweet of a dog he is. Speaking of dogs, Riddick’s at his best when he’s around others. The minute he sees one of his pup friends from afar, his tail starts wagging and it doesn't stop. Whether it’s on the leash during long strolls or passing the ball around in the yard, Riddick adores being around his canine companions, and it really brings out the goofball in him. Don’t worry though; Riddick is just as loving with humans. He’ll crawl into your lap for snuggles and show you how much he appreciates you with lots of affection. All he asks in return? A happy home where he can grow up with a loving and supportive family. Likely housebroken, this passed his initial cat testing.
Rescued from the South LA animal shelter. Weight: 62 lbs
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Champ von Coesfeld YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org
Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
