Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
King Tut von Kletzin is a stunning 12 month old German Shepherd. Tall, handsome and very much available, King Tut is a prime bachelor waiting to find the right family to settle down with. Unlike other bachelors you may meet on the dating scene, his manners prevail in any situation, whether it’s meeting people, greeting other dogs, or learning a new command (he’s already mastered “sit”). Likely housebroken, he's always ready to impress too, listening attentively to your directions and taking treats like a true gentleman. He lives an active lifestyle and would benefit from a family that can keep up with him. From hikes to off-the-leash playgroups, he loves to keep busy but, at the end of the day, he is a softie at heart. He loves curling up with you while you read a good book and giving (and getting!) kisses and hugs. Does he sound like the man for you? If so, don’t wait another second - we don’t think he’ll be on the market for long!
Rescued from the Inland Valley animal shelter. Weight: 76 lbs
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN King Tut von Kletzin YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org
Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
ADOPTION DAYS

If you have submitted an online application but have not been approved by our volunteer, please do NOT come down to meet dogs as we won't be able to show you any. No on-site screening at this time. Once approved and told to come meet dogs, we will be happy to help you.
