My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

These aquatic cuties came to POUNCE from our friends at Northeast Washington Spay/Neuter Alliance after they were trapped at a colony in Ford. Dr Laura spent some time taming them down, spay/neutering, and vaccinating them. They did have coccidia which is a nasty parasite! Our amazing foster Amanda took over their treatment, and it took a couple of months, but they are officially coccidia free and ready to find their forever home(s)!

Tadpole is the sweetest girl! She started out very very shy but now she loves to be pet and will often follow her foster mama around for more pets. She also really loves chasing little ball toys and mice toys and loves the interaction of a wand toy. Tadpole explores a lot too!

She loves cuddling her brothers and would do best being adopted with one of them, she seems to favor Toad slightly.

Each kitten comes spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, & microchipped (including registration). They are around 5 months old. The adoption fee is $100 for one kitten, or $150 for a pair or all three! Tadpole & Turtle are a bonded pair. To be honest, all 3 kittens are quite bonded and it would be fabulous to find an adopter interested in the trio! We know that’s a long shot, but want to put it out in the universe.

‍ We do require either adopting a pair of kittens, or having another cat in the home for the sake of the kittens. Please take this into consideration before applying! ‍

Additional adoption info

How it works-

If you are interested in adopting with us, the first step is an application. We will call two personal references and a veterinary reference (if applicable). The next step is a home check which can be done via sending in a video, or at the time we bring the animal over for a meet and greet.

Go meet their pets

We do not have a facility or hours of operation. To meet available cats or kittens, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Once approved, a meet and greet can be arranged!

More about this rescue

The POUNCE Alliance is a federally licensed 501c3 non profit, feline focused, foster based animal rescue. We heavily focus on TNR (trap-neuter-return) of feral cat colonies to minimize the number of felines born outdoors without proper resources to live and thrive. Thousands of cats are born outdoors every year in our community and the focus of POUNCE is to combat the issue with spay/neuter, vaccinations, and medical treatment. With TNR comes many found kittens, tame cats, and sickly community cats who we cannot ethically return back to their home. This is why POUNCE also has a foster and adoption program for adoptable and "hospice" cases who are either tame or are too fragile to return to the outdoors.
