Introducing Bojangles. He is a 2 year old Heeler Mix who weighs 49 lbs. He is an energetic boy who enjoys toys, cuddles, and walks. He is a calm guy once he gets out his initial energy. He is housetrained though some transitional accidents may be expected while he gets used to his new home. He knows how to sit and and shake. He goes into his crate on command, then expects a treat. He loves playing in the yard or house with other dogs. We were told his is good with cats, but he hasn't been observed around them while he's been in our care. His foster dad believes he would do great with kids large enough to handle his gentle jumps, playful pawing, persistent pursuit of attention, and wanting to lay on top of his people. He is described as friendly, outgoing, adaptable, happy, playful, and loyal. He can be timid at first, but warms up quickly.
His foster parents shared:
Bojangles is super sweet and lives for attention from people and dogs. He likes food too, but eats really fast so he can get back to being with his family. As much as he loves being with his people, he understands crate time and goes in on command for a treat. He stays quiet in his crate until he needs to use the restroom. He sleeps quietly next to his person once he understands it’s bed time and holds his bladder through the night. Bojangles jumps on his people, but he does it gently and is just asking for attention. He is very persuasive in that department. When you sit or lay down, expect him on top of you until you show him where he needs to lay in order to get your attention. Sometimes he gently paws at people. It’s just his way of playing or begging for more attention. He is very smart and trainable. Bojangles is a completely amazing dog who is going to be someone’s jackpot pet.
His adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
