Sprout is a 3 year old Schnauzer x Dachshund mix who’s ready to provide fall foliage and love to his forever home! Sprout was rescued from the shelter where he was left for reasons unknown. We got a call that the shelter was at capacity and they needed some heroes, so we jumped into action and answered the call! Sprout showered us in love from the minute we met him and we can’t wait for him to charm his forever people. Sprout weighs 18 pounds and has absolutely fabulous eyebrows. Ready for a lovebug who blossoms in your forever home? Meet our buddy, Sprout!

Sprout is a lively and playful gentleman who brings his fabulous eyebrows and his fantastic personality everywhere he goes! Sprout is lively and playful and is just the happiest dude. He loves his toys, chewing on his squeaky plushies and chasing after tennis balls in the yard. Sprout loves his people and would adore a home who is hoping for an affectionate companion to shower in love. Sprout is a low-riding compact dog who has so much energy to share with you. He’d love to join you on walks and hikes as you explore the world beyond your front door. He thrives in environments where he can be his outgoing self, so if you’re new to your neighborhood and hoping to make lots of friends, just leash up Sprout and head to the local park! Your social calendar will be full of paw-tinis in no time, we promise! Sprout is super smart as well, and he constantly amuses his people as he shows off his ability to quickly solve puzzles. Sprout is also a professional model and would love a closet full of bandanas and bow ties!

Sprout wakes up at 7 AM and heads out for a walk and bathroom break. He returns home for breakfast and then settles down for a morning nap. His foster mom works from home, so he spends his days curled up near her desk, keeping an eye on the daily Zoom agenda. He spends an hour or so in the afternoon zooming around the yard as he chases his toys. After the workday ends, Sprout heads out on another walk where he greets all his neighborhood pals, both human and canine. He eats dinner at 7 PM. In the evening, he amuses himself with his toys as everyone winds down from the day. He settles into the couch for some snuggles before one last potty and bed!

Sprout is super friendly with dogs and confidently greets all potential new friends with a smile and a wagging tail. He would be a fabulous companion to a resident dog but could also thrive as a solo dog. Sprout loves meeting new people and is a perfect ambassador for the canine collective. He walks well on a leash as well! Sprout can’t wait to start his new adventure with the family lucky enough to bring him home and he hopes to meet you soon!

Sprout is an option for any home, regardless of prior dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 9.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
