One beefy Mocha with extra sugar, please! Mocha is equal parts sweetness and positive energy whose presence feels like a warm hug, just like a delicious chocolatey coffee drink. He even has the colors to match!

Happy should be this 4ish-year-old brindle boy's name. He's rarely not smiling, including with his sparkling eyes. Mocha adores people and will take any chance to sneak into your lap for pets and snuggles. He loves his walks and time in the yard, where he happily rolls on his back with legs kicking up in the air. Mocha likes other dogs, but asks for a meet and greet with any potential dog siblings. Cats may not be a good fit. Older kids only, as he gets playfully mouthy, but all in good fun (you know the type). Mocha is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Submit Application

Fill out an application at the sanctuary or www.secondchanceas.org/adopt (Inquiries on online listings don't constitute an application)

2.
Interview

We will call your veterinarian and personal references. We'll also call you if we have questions or need more information.

3.
Approve Application

We will approve or deny the application. You may be approved to adopt, but not necessarily the same animal you originally applied for.

4.
Meet the Pet

This may be done before applying. You'll be asked to sign an adoption contract and to make a certain donation amount, rather than a set fee.

We are passionate about pairing animals in need with loving families who would best suit their individual needs. NOTE: You do not have to apply for a specific animal on your application. You can submit it as a "pre-application" for a certain size, age or breed of animal, and if approved, we can contact you if a possible match arrives at the shelter.

We are located in northcentral PA approximately 2.5 miles off Route 287 (please contact us for specific directions). Our facility is open 12-5 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and 12-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. We are closed Mondays and Wednesdays but are happy to arrange appointments outside business hours.
