My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I have been known to shower my favorite people in love!

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

A volunteer writes: This sweet, tail-wagging girl is Pocky; and she's so pretty that even passersby have given her compliments. But rather than show off her looks, she prefers to show off her personality. Pocky's favorite thing is hanging out with her humans, especially when they give her back and butt- scratches. She'll either go into play-mode, offering me play-bows and big tail-wags, and jumping up in excitement...or she'll stand there wiggling into my legs. She's so happy being with her friends that she was even game for being dressed up in a pretty Christmas sweater by some of the volunteers. Pocky came to us as a stray, so we don't know her history, but from what we've seen, she's housebroken with regular walks and enjoys playing with toys. She also loves treats and knows "sit", both of which I use with great success when she starts jumping up on me, and should be used for further (fear-free, positive-reinforcement) training by her new family. When we introduced Pocky to two different dogs (one male, one female), she was uncomfortable with both of them. You can meet this beautiful, friendly girl at our Queens shelter, where she's awaiting her fur-ever home.
