Take the Pet Home
HISTORY: COCHIN was born in a large colony of homeless cats near an F&F volunteer’s home. COCHIN, his siblings, and their mom visited regularly for late night feedings, until COCHIN decided to make her backyard his home and his family stopped coming around.
TEMPERAMENT: As the nights grew colder, COCHIN cuddled up to a space heater on the back patio, staying on the same patio chair most days. Once snow came, COCHIN loved playing in it, and also enjoyed playing with toys left out in the backyard. Although still frightened, he grew to trust his rescuer, enjoying face scratches. His rescuer decided to bring him in for neuter surgery and re-homing. Soon after, COCHIN was diagnosed with FIP. He recently completed treatment and is considered cured. COCHIN shows great promise to warm to patient humans who give him time and space. He has lived his entire life with other cats, but can be a bit much for submissive cats.
