My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This puppy was brought in by a community member.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Eta! This energetic girl is ready to explore the world with her new family! Puppies adjust well to households with other animals, and give you an early start with your canine. Puppies do a crucial amount of development before 16 weeks. It's vital to positively expose them to as many new things as possible, to build their confidence in the world around them. Socialization towards people, places, and things with the help of treats and play will help your puppy bravely approach the world when they are older. Our adoption counselors can set you up for success with employing positive reinforcement training from day 1. Look at that face - what are you waiting for? Adopt Eta today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
