My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Winston. I am a sprite 5 year old pocket-lab (I only weigh 49 pounds). I'm the most gentle, well-mannered pup you'll ever meet! In the house, I love to chill and am content lounging in my crate or sitting at my people's feet. I respect my foster family's rules and never beg for food, jump on the furniture, or try going upstairs. Best of all, I never bark, no matter how many Amazon packages my foster mom gets delivered!

Outside, I LOVE playing in the backyard. My favorite things are rolling in the grass and doing zoomies. I love playing chase with dogs or people. I am very dog and kid friendly! I can switch from zoomie mode to turbo-zoomie mode in 0.2 seconds and no one can catch me! I also like playing fetch. I'm such an easy dog, I will throw and catch the ball myself; you don't even have to throw to me! And, best of all, I'm content with short bouts of energy- after about 3 minutes, I'm ready to go back inside and nap!

I'm also the perfect car companion. I'll happily sit quietly in the backseat and look out the window the whole time- I love seeing all the new things out there! Walking on a leash is a new concept for me. I'm always very excited to go for walks, but sometimes new noises or objects will spook me, and I'll try to buck out of my collar and high-tail it home. If you adopt me, I'll need you to be patient with me and teach me that walks can be safe and fun with you by my side.

As for my health, I'm heartworm negative. I recently had surgery to remove a benign cyst from my tail- the Dr said it was nothing to worry about and I'm doing great in recovery. I also came to Peak Lab very skinny. I'm currently getting 4 meals a day to bulk up. I've already gained 6 pounds! I love eating and am thriving so much in foster care, I can't wait to be adopted into my forever home! I'd do best being adopted into a quiet home where I can continue to recover and receive all the head scratches and belly rubs you can give me.
