Blue is a 4 year old chihuahua / terrier mix. He is a owner surrender from a neglectful home. He may scream when picked up and will yell as if in pain- but it’s just fear from his past. Never has attempted to bite or nip.
Does not like his nails clipped- he will pull away and whine and sulk.
Does not care for dogs in his face and will give a low growl to warn them. He eventually warms up to them and can be found sleeping in dog bed w others.
He has wonky back legs from past injury or lack of nutrition. He runs, plays and does steps fine.
He gets cherry eye when he barks too long- apply a warm compress , massage that eye and it easily goes right back in.
He loves his humans and chasing wildlife in the yard- so no cats for this boy to be safe.
He is a barker when he hears noises or someone enters the home: so apartment living is not for this beautiful boy.
He will thrive in a low traffic home with no kids under 10 because he is still fearful at times and they would be too much for him.
Also since he is still not learning to walk on a leash without panicking- ideally a fenced in yard would be needed for him until he accepts the leash better.
