My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Vinny was brought in by a community member on November 17, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Vinny! Vinny is sure to win you over with his perfect puppy-dog eyes. This sweet and friendly guy is potty trained and gets along wonderfully with kids, other dogs, and even cats! He also a smarty-pants, having mastered sit, down, shake, and speak! Vinny loves being pet and is happiest when he's by your side-or out on a run, showing off his athletic side. Vinny does have some medical needs: he has moderate dental disease and a history of seizures, which are managed with daily medication that he'll need to continue in his new home. Despite these challenges, Vinny's zest for life and loving personality shine through. If you're looking for a loyal companion to share both cozy couch time and outdoor adventures, Vinny is your guy! Come meet Vinny today and don't forget to bring a leash and collar!

At SDHS:
Vinny has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. Vinny is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
