My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our lovely Axel. We rescued him from an overcrowded shelter two years ago. He's smart, clean, friendly with other dogs. He assumes the role of a guardian of the home and referee of the dog park :). We estimate he is around 4 years of age and is in good health.

We are planning to have kids soon and are preparing for that. I understand that kids plus dogs is something many are comfortable with but I've had a friend who's (mellow) dog attacked his son while the mother was in that bathroom. Axel is not aggressive at all but he is a big boy at around 100lb. In the tiny tiny chance that something could happen it could be fairly bad, so we're not taking that risk.

A home with older kids (5+) who can understand and respect him will be wonderful. While Axel is very well trained and very well behaved, he is ultimately a big dog and with that comes responsibility. He's truly an amazing dog.
