Duke’s adoption donation is $225 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, as well as flea prevention. He has also had a dental cleaning. Duke does require a home with a strong, verifiable veterinary history.
Duke came into rescue through no fault of his own when his owner passed away. He’s a mature boy that loves bonding time, cuddling, or playtime with his toys. Duke does very well on housetraining in his foster home and should continue to do so if kept on a schedule. He loves belly rubs and gives kisses. He sleeps well in a crate next to the bed if coaxed in with a treat. He can be possessive over his toys so supervision around kids is recommended. However, he does love getting pets and attention from all people including kids. His perfect family should not have children under the age of 10-12. He lives with other dogs currently but doesn’t like any to be in his face or very energetic. He would love to be an only dog and be the center of attention but would do fine in a home with other low energy pups. Duke does have Cushing’s disease and gets a daily medication for it that he eats up with his breakfast every morning.
