My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Honey, a young bundle of energy who is always ready to play. Her vibrant spirit is contagious, and she`s known as the shelter`s social butterfly, always eager to interact with everyone around her. She`s not just all fun and games, though. Honey is crate trained and displays an intense focus when it comes to learning new things. She knows the sit command but we don`t know if she is house trained. She already weighs 60 pounds and enjoys leading the way on a leash but is easy to handle. She can be a bit rough and dominant with other dogs but also friendly, playful, easygoing, respectful, cautious and occasionally fearful, so if you have a dog it would be a good idea for them to meet before you adopt. Despite her bossy nature, Honey`s friendly and playful demeanor makes her a joy to be around. She`s a lively, lovable companion who`s ready to bring a lot of happiness into your life. We haven`t seen her interact with children yet. Adopt Honey, and let her fill your home with laughter, love, and a lot of fun. (tw 11/24/2024)

More about this shelter

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
