My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Intake Date: 31 March 2023 ----- Adopted 9 July 2023 ----- Returned to Rescue: 17 November 2024 ----- Age at Intake: approximately May 2022 DOB ----- Breed: lab mix ----- Size: 45 lbs ----- Status: Pound pull, found astray ----- Compatible with: Dogs, cats, children. ----- Suitable for: home with a yard. Possible apartment with leashed exercise. ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: came to rescue emaciated but has recovered ----- Additional Notes: Little Skinny Minnie is a clear neglect case. Her fur was urine and feces stained from being forced to live in her own filth and she weighed only 25 lbs. She was exposed to parvo before rescue and unfortunately broke with full blown symptoms within a couple of days. She spent a week in the ICU and surprisingly she fought and won! She came back to rescue at just 18 lbs!! But within a week of recovering, our amazing little spirited girl bounced up to a whopping 26lbs! She looks amazing and her coat is so shiny, and her eyes are bright. She is a very happy and loving girl, and she deserves an amazing FOREVER home!

Pupdate: Well, we thought Minnie had found her forever home. Unfortunately, that was not the case. This poor dog cannot catch a break. We just pray her bad luck is over. Minnie came back to rescue due to no fault of her own. There were some family changes financially and maritally and she was the one who lost it all. So now she is back at rescue. We are getting her vetting caught back up and then she is ready for adoption. Minnie is a very sweet girl. She loves her treats and loves people. She really is a happy happy girl.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. Adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. If a yard is present, a secure fence is mandatory.
