My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Sera!

I’m 2 years old and 53 pounds of pure Aussie charm, and I have one very important job—making sure you never have to lift more than a finger to throw a toy ever again. I’ll bring it to you, you toss it, I’ll bring it back… Rinse. Repeat. It's a perfect system. And guess what? I’m really good at it. Seriously, if fetch were an Olympic sport, I'd be the gold medalist. No pressure, but I expect regular toy retrievals throughout the day, okay? When I’m not busy playing fetch, I’m probably just hanging out, being your fluffy shadow. My coat? Soft enough to make you question if I’m part cloud. You’ll want to pet me all day long, and I won’t stop you. Ever.

I’m super smart, too, so be prepared for some clever antics—though let’s just say I might not always listen to your commands, you know, for fun. It’s not that I’m ignoring you... I'm just weighing the pros and cons of obeying. You get me, right? If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion with a soft-as-silk coat and an unrelenting desire to fetch until the cows come home (I’d probably herd them too, but we’ll work on that), I’m your girl. Just be ready for a lot of fun and some serious cuddle time, because I’m an expert in both!

So here’s the backstory—grab your tissues, it’s a bit of a wild ride. I wasn’t always living the good life of toys and belly rubs. Nope, I once found myself out there in the big, scary world as a stray. I know, dramatic gasp—how could anyone resist this face, right? Anyway, after some time on my own, I ended up at an animal shelter, just waiting for my person to come claim me. But... that never happened. Cue the sad violin music I don’t know what kind of monster doesn’t want a smart, soft, fetching machine like me, but no worries—because soon enough, PPFT swooped in and made everything better! So, no more stray life for me—I’m here to find my forever home, where I can fetch, snuggle, and show off my silky coat to the lucky humans who choose me! Ready for the ride? It’s gonna be a whole lot of fun!

So, what’s my vibe? Well, I’m what you’d call "Happy Go Lucky" with a side of "Let’s-Play-For-Ever." Outside, I’m like a playful, fluffy tornado—zoomies galore! I’ll run, I’ll jump, I’ll bring back toys like it’s my life’s mission (because it is). Seriously, fetch isn’t just a game, it’s a lifestyle, and I’m here to play all day long. But don’t think I’m all energy and no chill—I’ve got the balance, baby. Inside, I’m pretty calm. I love curling up and lounging on a soft spot while I wait for my next round of fun. Don’t get me wrong, I could probably play fetch from sunup to sundown, but I also know when it’s time to relax and just soak up some snuggles. (Which I am very good at.) I’m pretty smart, too! I pick things up faster than you can say "agility course" (seriously, I might just be the next agility star in the making). I love puzzles, challenges, and anything that gets me thinking... which means I’m probably going to wow you with my skills and speed in learning new tricks. And, let’s be honest, I’ll do anything for treats. So, if you’re looking for a fun, smart, energetic companion who knows how to flip the switch from wild zoomies to cozy cuddle time, I’m your girl.

Oh, car rides? Absolutely! The second I see the car, I’m like, “Let’s go, let’s go, LET’S GO!” I’ll hop right in, settle down, and then do my best “I’m a sophisticated traveler” impression by sitting up and gazing out the window. You know, just taking in the sights like I’m on a mini vacation. As for public outings? You bet! I’m a social butterfly in the making. Whether it’s a trip to the pet store, a visit to a cafe, or just hanging out with the fam at a friend’s house, I’m ready to tag along. I’m pretty good in new places, and I love meeting new people. (Although, fair warning: when I meet people, it’s like my excitement explodes, and I might just jump up to say “Hello, new best friend!” Don’t take it personally—I’m just so happy to see you!) Now, don’t think I’m all about the hustle and bustle. I can be just as happy being a cozy homebody. If you want to have a chill day inside, I’m right there with you, just waiting for the next round of fetch. (No pressure, but it’s always time for that, right?) I’m still working on leash manners—gotta be honest. I’ve only been on it a couple of times, but I did okay. With a little more practice, I’ll be a leash-walking pro in no time!

Oh, other dogs? YES, please! I’m a social butterfly through and through, and I would love a doggie sibling to run and play with. At first, I was a little nervous meeting new dogs (I mean, they are a lot at first), but now? I’m all in—tail wagging, zoomies, the works. Let’s be besties! But listen, if you’re not ready for another dog in the house, that’s okay too. I’m kind of a “Velcro dog”—I’ll stick to you like glue. As long as you’re around, I’m a happy camper. I love being near my humans, so if you work from home or have someone around a lot, I’ll be your ever-present shadow. (I’ll even help you with your chores... just by watching, of course.) Cats? Pfft, no problem. I’m totally cool with them. I’m a sweet and gentle soul, so I’m not going to cause any drama with your feline friends. I’ll probably just give them a polite sniff and go about my day. And as for kids? I’m great with them—so long as they know how to behave around dogs. I’m super sweet and affectionate, and I’ll happily share the love, but I’d appreciate it if everyone understood that I’m not a toy. If your kids are respectful and know how to play gently, we’ll be the perfect match!

Apartment living? Oh, I’m totally up for it! As long as you promise to give me plenty of exercise—think agility courses, fetch marathons, and maybe even some brain games to keep me on my toes—I’ll be a perfectly happy apartment dog. I’m a girl who knows how to play hard and relax hard, so after a good workout, I’ll be ready to chill out and snuggle with you on the couch. (Yes, I absolutely get on the couch. It’s our spot now, right?) Potty training? Nailed it! I’ve got the whole potty thing down, no accidents here. I’m also not a big fan of chewing on anything other than my toys, so your shoes and furniture are safe. Barking? Well, I’ll only bark when I need a little attention or if I want to remind you that I’m here, and I’m adorable—just in case you forgot. And when it comes to roaming the house? You can totally trust me. I’m a good girl, and I promise not to tear up the place while you’re gone. Just make sure to leave a toy or two out, and I’ll be fine! So, apartment or house, couch or floor, I’m ready for it all—as long as I’ve got some playtime, love, and maybe the occasional treat. Let’s do this!

So here’s the deal—I’m not just looking for a temporary spot. I’m all in, heart and paws. I want to be your forever dog, not your “until dog.” I get it, life can change—moves, new babies, whatever else life throws at you. But I’m looking for a family that will choose me through it all. I don’t want to be the one that’s given up on when things get hard or when the novelty wears off. I’m a loyal, loving companion who’ll stand by you no matter what, so I’m hoping you’re looking for the same kind of commitment.

So what happens next? Well, I would hope that you would submit an adoption app for me. You can find the app on the rescue's website, message them for it, or find it in the comments below.

I am being fostered in ✨Kiowa, OK✨ so if you live outside the area..no worries. Just be prepared to pack for a road trip because this rescue doesn't send us on transports. So, both they and I will be expecting you to come pick me up. And what better way to start the bonding process than with a road trip?!

Catch you later... unless you’re about to throw a toy. In that case, I’ll be right there. 🐾💕
