My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

AN ACTIVE & SILLY BOY:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 34 lbs.

Hi, my name’s Muttley – a handsome guy with beautiful eyes!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  Since joining the MM family, I’ve been soaking up all the love from the volunteers who come to care for me. They say I am now ready to find my new family, and I am so excited for that day.  Hopefully it will be soon!  I was in a temporary home for a few weeks, but I’m back with Mostly Mutts as it wasn’t a good fit.  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off site and learned a lot!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was friendly with them. If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / The folks in my temporary home said I did well with their cat, so if you have a cat that likes dogs, let’s meet. / I met a boy and girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts, and I was sweet with them, but went after their feet when they ran - not aggressively, but playfully mouthy.  Since I’m still young and a bit jumpy and mouthy right now, kids 10+ would be the best for me, so let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a happy and super sweet guy with a friendly demeanor.  The volunteers have noticed I am also quite focused, which bodes well for my future training success.  I’m playful and fun – ready to make lots of great memories with my new family. I was also sweet and calm for my shelter bath then – when it was over, I was ready to rumble and have fun with my bather!  I enjoy cuddling with the volunteers and like to give them kisses.  By the way, I can jump my gate at the shelter, so I should not be unsupervised in a fenced yard until you know I won’t try to do that. / My energy level is 6-8.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  So far, I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’ commands and I look forward to learning lots more! I’m still very much a puppy and can be quite mouthy, so my trainers are working on that with me. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I had accidents on the shelter schedule, but in the temporary home, it was reported that I did well with my potty manners.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like to get attention from all the nice volunteers, and I love toys, too, so let’s have some fun playtimes!  A volunteer took me on a trip to the park and it was a blast!  I was very polite while riding in the car and I love to explore new places, so take me on lots of adventures with you!  / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I’m experiencing some itchy skin and a rash, so Mostly Mutts is trying the allergy medication Apoquel to help clear it up. I have just started this medication, so please check back soon for an update on how it is working for me.

I am looking for a wonderful furever home where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
