My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am Salem. I am cute now, but wait until I grow into my ears! I am an energetic, playful, loving little gray girl with a bit of a shy side at first. I spent my early days outdoors in a feral colony fending for myself, so I just need a little time to warm up and show you how great I am. If you give me that chance, you will not be disappointed. I love finding high places to hang out, and being the first to play with a new toy. I have a great time with the other kittens in my foster house, and I am also learning how to live with dogs. I would love to have a companion in my forever home. My sister, Sabrina would be great, or one of my other friends, Calliope or Agatha. Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
