My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tortilla, a feline with a heart as soft as her name suggests. Her sweet nature shines through her shy demeanor, creating an endearing personality that leaves a lasting impression. Tortilla is a mature cat, which means she has grown out of her kitten antics and developed a calm demeanor. She enjoys peaceful afternoons, napping in cozy corners, and engaging in gentle play. She prefers quiet environments and would be a perfect companion for someone who values tranquility. Despite her initial shyness, Tortilla has a lot of love to give. She forms deep bonds with those she trusts, offering a unique companionship that only a pet can provide. Adopting Tortilla would mean providing a loving home for a cat who has so much love to return. It would mean gaining a loyal friend, a comforting presence, and a gentle soul to share your life with.

More about this shelter

We are an open admissions shelter, meaning we take in homeless animals regardless of age, breed, health, temperament or lack of space. On average, we take in about 5,500 stray, surrendered and abandoned animals per year including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and reptiles. We provide adoption services to find safe, happy homes for these pets; and also provide low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics to help safeguard them against illness or being lost forever.
