My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cranberry Sauce (whose real name is Finley Marie) is a beautiful 6-year old female (possible) Hound mix who was picked up on Farson Street in Belpre Ohio on November 22, 2024 by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff. Finley Marie was accompanied by her best friend (Fruit Salad aka Nova Lynn). Finley was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped.

These girls are a mother-daughter duo.

Finley Marie has a brown/brindle coat with a patch of white on her chest, white paws, a long tail, and an adorable round face with dark brown eyes, black shading on her muzzle, and large floppy ears which frame her face.

Finley was understandably frightened being in an unfamiliar place and showed her fear by putting up a brave front and growling. She is cautious and unsure about people, but made a noble effort to venture outdoors with HSOV Volunteer Emma Dahlgren for her photo session on the afternoon of November 22nd. Finley stayed close to Emma for comfort/security and self-confidence and did herself proud. Within a few minutes, Finley was gently wagging her tail and looking to Emma for attention.

Finley weighs 58 lbs. She doesn't seem to have been accustomed to walking on a leash.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Finley is being held on a three-day stray hold and will be available for adoption on November 25th.

Update: After posting preliminary photos of Finley and Nova on our HSOV Facebook pages, we were given additional information about the girls from one of their previous owners ....

Finley and her daughter Nova had been in their home since they were puppies. They were both fine with newborn/young children who had shared their home, but they were not good with cats. Since Finley and Nova always had separation anxiety when they were apart from each other, it was suggested that keeping them together would be in their best interest and well-being.
