Meet Auggie, the most inspiring 9-week-old “Teddy Bear” puppy you’ll ever meet! Likely a mix with Shih Tzu in his lineage, this gorgeous fluff ball was born without eyes and abandoned by a puppy miller who didn’t see his potential. But Auggie is proving to the world that blindness doesn’t hold him back.

With an incredible sense of spatial awareness, Auggie navigates his environment as if he can see. He quickly maps out rooms and boundaries, confidently exploring and playing just like any other puppy. His playful, bouncy energy is infectious, and his zest for life lights up every room he enters. Auggie absolutely loves romping around with his foster siblings, showing that his disability doesn’t stop him from enjoying all the joys of puppyhood.

This snuggly little pup has a unique way of showing his love—he adores sleeping on or between your feet and will come find you wherever you go, just to be near you. Auggie would thrive in a home with a companion dog to help guide him. A confident, friendly dog can provide the support and partnership Auggie needs to navigate his world and continue to build his confidence.

While Auggie is still learning to feel comfortable being held for extended periods—likely because he can’t orient himself in that space—his sweet and loving personality shines through in every interaction. He’s curious, intelligent, and full of courage, making him a truly remarkable pup. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind companion with a heart of gold and an indomitable spirit, Auggie is ready to be your loyal and loving friend. This little pup is proof that even without sight, life can be just as bright and beautiful!

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs.

All our dogs have been treated with de-wormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 months or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption.

We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts.

You can learn more about our rescue and process at www.new2urescue.org or find us on Facebook. You must be 25 yrs of age or older to adopt through us. We are in the Rochester NY area and adopt dogs out to area residents.

We are registered in NY State with the Dept of Agriculture RR #033 and a registered 501c3 Non-Profit

More about this rescue

We are in Rochester, NY and adopt to homes in the Rochester NY area. Foster home based, no shelter.

Our mission is helping dogs that are homeless, in public shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia, or given up by owners due to inability to properly care for the animal.

All dogs brought into our rescue are placed in an approved foster home where they will receive love, training and any needed veterinary care. We remain committed to all dogs in our rescue after they are adopted by requiring that, should it not work out, dogs are returned to us and never given away or placed in a shelter. We strive for the right home for each of our dogs through meetings, reference checks and home visits. New 2 U Rescues mission is homes that will be for the life of every dog adopted out.
We also endeavor to work with other shelters, rescues, and humane organizations to help create a safe and caring network to help dogs in need. Our group is committed to the care of dogs in our rescue and community. We help through our foster program and education of those we work with or come into contact with.

We are a 501c3 registered rescue and Registered with NY State Dept of Agriculture Reg No. 33
