Halloo, Axl here, I am just a boy, in search of a human(s) to call my own. I love my foster home and all the other dogs here, but what I really wish for is a family of my very own who I can get to know and love for the rest of my life! My foster mama tells me I am extremely handsome; it kind of makes me blush, just a little. She also says I am equally sweet and lovable, which I can agree to as I simply love people, dogs, you name it. I don’t even mind the cats or the giant dogs in the field—I think they call them horses, but what do I know? I love my crate, but truth be known, I am getting old enough and love to sleep and nap on the giant dog bed. I think one of those in my new home would be marvelous! I am especially fond of the small, young female Pyr who came here to be fostered and asked mom if she could come with me to my new home so if you would like two, talk to me! I love to get my bottom rubbed, give kisses and hang out in the green turtle, even when the other dogs try to climb in with me! Running and jumping in the leaf piles was fun too! My new home would need a 5' secure fenced yard, another doggie or two, cats are okay, and kids, I love kids too! Oh, I almost forgot, lots of toys too please! I wish for loving parents who will help me feel secure and safe and teach me lots of new cool stuff! I can’t wait to meet you…XOXO, Axl

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
