My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I’m Sebastian, a dignified older gentleman who’s left behind the days of puppy antics for a more refined way of life. I’m all about calm, composed companionship and enjoying the finer things in life.

I came to the shelter with another dog, so I might do well with a furry friend who appreciates a steady presence. I’m a sweet and loyal boy, and I’m ready to be your steadfast best friend. Whether it’s a leisurely stroll or just relaxing at home, I’ll be by your side with unwavering devotion.

If you’re looking for a mature, loving companion who’s past the puppy stage but still has plenty of affection to give, I’m your perfect match. Let’s share the quiet joys of life together and make each day a little brighter with my gentle presence.

More about this shelter

The Animal Defense League was established in 1934 by a group of individuals, “for the prevention of cruelty to animals; to promote kind and humane treatment of animals; and to aid and assist the enforcement of laws enacted for the prevention of animal cruelty.”

In 1961, ADL moved to its present location in the easily accessible northeast part of San Antonio. Its campus encompasses more than 12 acres and includes a two-acre pet park. On the property is an Adoption Center with a small retail store, and a separate 5,000 square-foot Clinic which houses our veterinary hospital that provides onsite spay/neuter surgery, surgery for injured and ill animals, and ongoing medical care for all ADL resident animals.
