My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey Dayna here!! I am a long term resident, I personally blame all those cute puppies who keep showing up at the shelter and stealing my thunder. I am hoping to get into a home before the holidays and spend Christmas with my new family! Here is my family wish list!

1. Provide all the comforts of home. Warm cozy beds, a fenced yard, large selection of squeaky toys, a few rubber chickens, good food and even better treats - in moderation of course. I've been watching my figure so I can fit into those skinny collars.

2. Fit and fun. I'm a strong girl who loves a few good walks a day. Nothing crazy - I'm never going to be a marathon runner or a dog park dweller but I do love to explore. I need someone who can keep up and hold on tight when I occasionally have one of those 'start the car' moments.

3.Transportation. I LOVE a good car ride. Sometimes I just sit in the car for fun. I don't even mind waiting if Black Friday sales call you into a real store.

4. Flashlights. I hate to admit it but this girl is kind of scared of the dark.

5. Appreciates personal space rules. I'm just not one of those cuddly, needy girls. Togetherness is the best but a girl needs her space to get her beauty rest and play with toys without interruptions. You do you, I'll do me - in the same space!

6. Wants to make me the Star of Show. Call me selfish but I don't want to share my family with any other pets. My foster family says there might be a bit more to that story but I say whatever!! You get the point.

A bit about me (aka why I'm so much better than a puppy)
• Fully trained - house-trained and you can sleep past 5am, leash trained, no jumping, won't chew and wreck things you love. My foster family says I'm the easiest dog they have ever had. Beat that puppies!!
• No separation anxiety. I'm happy to hang out in the house or car until you return and I'm willing to waive the personal space rules for a bit when you get back.
• About those 'start the car moments' I mentioned. I'm a strong, excitable kind of girl with a "lack of dog socialization skills." That means I want to meet every dog I see but I don't get the memo if they don't like my approach. Seems like a "them" problem to me but my foster family prefers me to say "It's a work in progress".
