My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Mummy is a 2 year old min pin (maybe?) mix. She is about 25 lbs and has the most beautiful brindle stripes that she has passed on to her four puppies, also with Rescue Rovers.  She is a gentle girl who is sweet and kind. She is good with other dogs and would love another furry friend to play with in the yard. Because of her habit of jumping up on people and counter surfing, small kids could get knocked over or robbed of their lunch. More pros and cons are below:

Her pros: Mummy wants to please her person, and responds very well to verbal directions and corrections. She will generally follow commands such as “kennel up” and “stay”. She tries really hard to become pals with other dogs, and even gives them kisses and high fives to make friends. When loose in the house, she respects baby gate barricades and stays in the rooms allowed. She is crate trained and will stay quiet in her crate overnight. She will take treats very well from your hands. Anything food, she loves. She loves squeaky toys. She loves to go for walks and would love an active home. She loves to sleep on the couch with you, and will try to put her head in your lap for reassurance that she can stay there.

Her cons: Any ‘cons’ seem to stem from an apparent lack of structure Mummy experienced in her original home, and it has been a joy to see her learn from more constant sources of food and basic house rules. For example, it appears she had to scavenge for food as a pregnant mom, based on her actively searching for any floor crumbs and counter surfing. You might think she’s always starving, but she’s just very food-motivated. She has gotten better about jumping up on your leg for attention, now that she knows she gets lots of loves. She will do her potty business outside, but her foster mom still recommends room containment (baby gates) and a fair amount of observation until she learns the schedule of her new home. She rarely barks, but when another dog barks next door, she joins in until corrected to stop.
