We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable puppy that needs our help. Popcorn was one of these dogs that deserves, due to his excellent temperament and all the love he'll bring to a family, to have a wonderful home filled with pure love and nurturing.
Popcorn was found as a stray in Arkansas, living in a bush with his mom and 4 other siblings. They were rescued and brought into a small shelter, and then booked a ticket to Colorado for a fresh start. Popcorn is now in a foster home in Colorado, waiting to find his forever family. All of Popcorn's family has been adopted... all of his brothers and his mom. Popcorn is happy in his foster home, but patiently awaiting his forever home.
Popcorn is a cute as can be 4 month old, 6 lb Maltese / West Highland White Terrier mix that is nothing but pure love. His estimated full grown weight is around 10-15 lbs. This pup is SO sweet and once acclimated to his new life, will be a friendly and engaging pup giving 100% of his heart to his new family.
***We think it is important to note that Popcorn does appear to shed.***
Popcorn is a perfect size and weight to be able to accompany his favorite people everywhere a wonderful smaller dog is welcome. He will fit right into virtually every situation due to her great temperament and love of life. Our dream for this very loving dog is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes him for life.
As Popcorn becomes more and more comfortable in his forever home, he will blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier his family is with his behavior, the more this sweetie pie will shine with his accomplishments.
Farfel's would like to see Popcorn in a home that includes him in family time and activities (and some lap or couch-time with belly rubs would be perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a very smart and cooperative dog like Popcorn the skills to accompany his family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area.
Popcorn is so much fun to watch as he puts his positive energy into enjoying the day with his beloved foster family. This little guy would do very well with a young family that works from a home-based office. He would bask in the attention and cuddles periodically throughout the day that this life-style offers.
Popcorn will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks) and great nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are excellent protocols for longevity and coat care) to keep Popcorn's hair super- healthy, cottony-soft and matte-free.
Popcorn is up to date on his shots, although will still require 1 more parvo booster as he gets a bit older, before it is safe to go out on public ground. He is not yet neutered, as he is too young. It’s been shown that neutering closer to 1 year old is better for the dog’s health. For this reason, we give any puppy under 1 until they are 1 year old to be neutered. Neuter is required by law to finalize any adoption, and Farfel’s Rescue covers the full cost of his neuter.
Popcorn is available for adoption now. Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Popcorn please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
An Adoption Application and an Adoption Contract must be completed before any dog can begin their one week foster. Our average adoption fee is $695. This amount serves to cover vetting, spay/neuter, all vaccinations, temperament testing, transport, a microchip, harness, food, and treats.
Our dogs come from Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and rural Colorado.

Pets are transported from the southern states every week. Almost 100% of the time, the dogs are spoken for as a result of adoption applications that can be referenced under Adoption at farfelsrescue.com. We study the applications. If the app indicates there is a match, followed up by a home visit and reference checks, the process moves to the next step. The adopter is committing to a one week foster (of course the dog can be returned at any time prior), and can then choose to finalize the adoption.

More about this rescue
We own a pet boutique named Farfel's Farm & Rescue on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado. We have had the good fortune to find our niche in the Boulder community and experience success. We felt it very important to "pay it forward" in gratitude. We couldn't think of a better endeavor than to save dogs who were out of time in the southern states, yet had been identified with great temperaments. We dedicate our efforts to their good health and ultimate wonderful, permanent homes.
