My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 2 years old
Weight: 4.14kg / 9.12lb

Like her namesake, Princess Leia, this shy and graceful girl has a brave heart waiting to shine. Leia is a gorgeous domestic medium-haired cat with a curious spirit, always intrigued by the world around her. While her past is a mystery, she’s ready to write a new chapter in a calm and patient home that can help her come out of her shell.

Leia may be a bit nervous at first, but with gentle care and understanding, she’ll blossom into a loyal and adventurous companion. Her love of exploration might even make her a great candidate for harness training and safe outdoor adventures!

Leia’s beautiful coat will require some regular grooming, and with time, she may grow to enjoy the extra pampering. If you’re ready to help Leia find her confidence, she’ll reward you with her quiet charm and a bond as strong as the Force.

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
