My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Khloe came to the shelter as owner surrender. Her owner was experiencing some serious health issues and could no longer care for her. Khloe is a mix of miniature Australian shepherd and chihuahua but she looks mostly like a mini Aussie. She is 7 years old and petite, weighing around 17 pounds. She has been vet checked, chipped, and spayed and her fee is $150.

Khloe definitely prefers the company of women. She's very loving and affectionate once she's comfy with someone and tends to become somewhat possessive of that person. Khloe is looking for a somewhat quiet home in which she won't be left alone for long hours. An adult only home would be best. She has lived with other dogs and has been somewhat tolerant of cats but does tend to get a little jealous when she has to share attention. We think she might actually prefer to be the only princess in the home.

Someone with some experience with herding breed types would be excellent for Khloe. She might be smaller but she does seem to have herding instinct. She likes to be busy and needs regular exercise.

NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
